About Mike Hartness

Mike Hartness is the Executive Vice President in Enterprise Information Services at SunTrust Bank headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.  He has responsibility for Enterprise Delivery Services which includes Information Technology Application Software Delivery, Client Relationship Management, IT Planning and Corporate Project Management.  

Mike has spent 35 years with SunTrust in various management responsibilities throughout Georgia and Florida.  His experience at SunTrust has spanned all areas of Information Technology and Banking Operations Management such as IT Risk Management, IT Infrastructure, and Technology and Operational Planning.

Mike is active in the IT community with past IT board advisory representation at DeVry Technical Institute, Georgia Institute of Technology, and The University of Georgia.  Mike is a past trustee of the American Kidney Fund’s National Organization and remains involved with the Southeast region of the American Kidney Fund Council. 

Mike has been a key note speaker at organizations such as Project Management Institute and the Black Data Processing Association (BDPA).  He is currently on the Board of Directors for Technology Association of Georgia (TAG society).  He actively supports organizations such as Women in Technology, Georgia Women in Business, TechBridge and Year Up.

Mike has been very successful in charity leadership, board representation, and fundraising.  He is particularly proud of a ten year leadership role which generated $3.0 million dollars.

Mike has received numerous awards for his volunteer work and was voted Georgia’s Health Charities Client Volunteer of the year in 2005.

Mike is a native Georgian who enjoys outdoor activities like golf, boating, hunting and fishing.
